Cristina Botella is Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the Universitat Jaume I (UJI). At the UJI she has been Director of the Department of Psychology, founder and Director of the Psychological Assistance Service, Director of the Doctoral Program in Psychology, and of the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology, and PI of a CIBER action (www.ciberobn.es). She was also founder of the Laboratory of Psychology and Technology (LabPsiTec-www.labpsitec.es).

Her main line of research is the use of ICT to promote health and well-being and she has demonstrated that ICT are effective and efficient technological tools for the treatment of different problems. These ICT-based applications have given rise to several intellectual and industrial property rights, paving the way for numerous transfer actions.

It has been PI in more than 45 research projects funded by the European Union and different national organizations. These projects have contributed to the acquisition of scientific equipment (VR equipment, AR, physiological measurements, mini cave, etc.) that have contributed to the UJI being among the best endowed universities in Spain in these equipments. Her research activity has resulted in extensive scientific productivity. She is the author of 20 books and more than 90 book chapters. She has published more than 400 scientific articles and more than 600 papers in scientific congresses. In addition, she has contributed to the training of numerous researchers, directing 33 doctoral theses and training 24 fellows (FPI/ FPU programs) and supervising more than 40 contracts associated with projects.

Dr. Botella has national and international recognition, she was President Elect of the Association of CyberPsychology, Training & Rehabilitation (http://iactor.ning.com) and member of the Steering Board of The International Society for Research on Internet Interventions (http://isrii.org/). Vice-President of the National Association of Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology of Spain and member of the National Commission of Clinical Psychology. She is a member of the Mental Health Advisory Council of the Generalitat Valenciana. She is a member of the Editorial Board of more than 20 scientific journals and is an external reviewer for more than 40 international scientific organizations.
