Patricia Gual Montolio conducted her doctoral thesis in Psychology at the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) with a grant from the UJI’s own Program. She currently holds the position of Postdoctoral researcher and is a member of the LABPSITEC research group (Laboratory of Psychology and Technology, http://www.labpsitec.uji.es) of the UJI since 2018, led by Dr. Azucena García Palacios.
Her research work focuses on the study of psychology and technology for the promotion of health and well-being. Therefore, her research is focused on the use of technology to guide and improve outcomes in psychotherapy. Specifically, it focuses on the use of a mobile application, developed and validated by the LABPSITEC research group (EmoGuía, Mi Emi, Bienestar Emocional, Castilla et al., 2022) with the aim of exploring the feasibility of the application for patients with anxious-depressive symptomatology. The app evaluates patients on a daily basis and therapists receive clinical alarms in real time when relevant clinical events, previously determined by the team, occur. In this way, the aim is to monitor patients between sessions in order to use the information obtained from the evaluation measures to guide and personalize the therapy or the therapeutic content given. Thus, the app provides personalized EMIs based on the daily assessment of patients observed in the app with the EMA.
Her teaching profile is framed in the area of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatment within the Department of Basic and Clinical Psychology and Psychobiology. Her teaching career includes first cycle teaching in the Psychology degree. His teaching work is closely related to his research career.
In addition, she collaborates from 2019 to the present in assistance activities of evaluation, diagnosis and individual and group psychological treatments in the Psychological Assistance Service (SAP) of the Universitat Jaume I, directed by Dr. Azucena García Palacios and recognized as a health center of the Valencian Community.
