Macarena Paredes Mealla is pursuing the PhD program in Psychology at the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) since 2019, under the mentorship of Dr. Azucena García Palacios and Dr. Carlos Suso Ribera. She is a beneficiary of a grant for the training of research personnel (predoctoral contract), in the framework of the Santiago Grisolía program of the Generalitat Valenciana. She holds a degree in Psychology from the Catholic University of Santiago del Estero (Argentina), where she obtained the Magna Cum Laude distinction for her academic performance. Specialist in Integrative Cognitive Psychotherapy (Fundación Aiglé – Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata) and Specialist in Clinical Neuropsychology (Universidad de Buenos Aires).

Member of the research team of the Aiglé Foundation, she has 5 years of clinical experience in the treatment of patients with emotional disorders. She teaches in the area of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment in the Department of Basic, Clinical and Psychobiology Psychology at the Universitat Jaume I; she is also a psychotherapist at the Psychological Assistance Service (SAP), directed by Dr. Azucena García Palacios.

His current line of research focuses on the design and evaluation of brief psychological interventions focused on Emotional Reasoning Bias in patients with Social Anxiety, focused on enriching current evidence-based psychological treatments and being delivered with the help of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), to improve their efficacy, efficiency and effectiveness.
