Professor of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Valencia, attached to the Department of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatments. Specialist in Clinical Psychology (2010). Co-director of the Master in Multidisciplinary Intervention in Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders and Emotional Disorders (University of Valencia) (2007-present).
She has been clinical coordinator of the Eating and Personality Disorders Unit, PREVI (2000-2016). She obtained the certification of Therapist in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (2018), completed the Training in Family Connections: a program for family members of people with borderline personality disorder (May, 2017). She obtained the Leader Training certificate in Family Connections (May, 2018). Currently, she is President of the National Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder Education in Spain (NEABPD-SPAIN) from where Family Connections family groups are conducted for family members of people with borderline disorder, emotional dysregulation and suicide. https://neabpdspain.org/ and Secretary of the Spain-DBT Association.
The main line of research of her team focuses on eating disorders (ED), personality disorders (PD) and suicide. A few years ago, they launched a line of research focused on providing help to family members of people with severe mental disorders, such as AT, PT and suicide. It also works in the development and testing of ICT-based applications in Clinical Psychology, such as, for example, the use of virtual reality, augmented reality, self-applied programs through the internet, etc. So far, he has an H Index of 18, has obtained 3 sexenios of research, and 2 quinquennium. He has published 85 articles, 65 of them in journals referenced in JCR and 20 in journals referenced in international databases. He has written a manual and 15 book chapters and has presented 150 communications in international and national congresses. He has been Principal Investigator in four research projects. He has participated in different projects financed by public or private entities: 4 European projects; 8 national projects and 8 regional projects. All of them have contributed substantially to his research training. It should be noted that she belongs to the CIBER excellence action: Center for Biomedical Research Network “Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition” (www.ciberobn.es) since 28-03-2011. She was also part of the Group 038 “Psychopathology, Evaluation and Treatment of Emotional Disorders” of the Universitat Jaume I.
