Mariví Navarro is a professor at the University of Zaragoza (UZ). Her teaching profile focuses on the area of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatments. She belongs to the reference research group “S31_23-R: Research in Behavior, Health and Technologies (ICST)” and to the IPES group of IISA of Aragón. She is also an official trainer and certified therapist in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Her line of research focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of transdiagnostic psychological interventions (face-to-face and/or through ICTs) for personality disorders and comorbid disorders (e.g. substance use disorder), as well as studying predictors of implementation of these interventions in daily clinical practice.

She worked for 4 years at LABPSITEC collaborating in numerous projects and currently she continues collaborating as an external researcher. Her doctoral thesis (directed by Azucena García Palacios) consisted of evaluating the efficacy of DBT to treat comorbidity between Borderline Personality Disorder and eating disorders. She obtained a two-year postdoctoral contract in Dr. Linehan’s team (University of Washington, USA), working in different studies (funded by the US NHS, NIHM) to evaluate the efficacy of DBT. She is also collaborating with Dr. Hoffman’s team at the University of Washington on studies investigating the use of virtual reality for mindfulness practice.

Dr. Navarro has published several scientific articles with impact factor and has collaborated in numerous funded research projects in the field of treatments for emotional dysregulation. She is currently a member of the research team of a research project funded by the Carlos III Institute on the application of the Unified Protocol (PU) in hybrid format in the National Health System (NHS), as well as another project funded by the Generalitat Valenciana that aims to evaluate a momentary ecological mobile application to improve emotional regulation in health professionals. Recently, he has been awarded a project (as PI) funded by the National Plan on Drugs (Ministry of Health) to implement the PU and DBT in the NHS addiction resources.
