Javier Fernández-Alvarez has completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Palermo (Buenos Aires, Argentina), a Master’s Degree in Cognitive Psychotherapy at the Aiglé Foundation with a degree awarded by the National University of Mar del Plata. In addition, Santiago Grisolía fellow at the Laboratory of Psychology and Technology at the University Jaume I (Castellón, Spain), Subsequently, predoctoral fellow Marie Skłodowska-Curie for doctoral training at the Catholic University of Milan, Italy, under the supervision of Giuseppe Riva, postdoctoral Margarita Salas at the University of Bern (Switzerland) and University Jaume I (Castellón, Spain), and currently postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva at the University of Valencia (Spain).
He also has clinical experience as a therapist both at the Aiglé Foundation in Argentina and at the Psychological Assistance Service of the Universitat Jaume I (Spain).
His main line of research is the study of process and outcome in psychotherapy, both in face-to-face and technology-mediated modalities, with emphasis on virtual reality and internet interventions. Emotional regulation is the mechanism of change in which she has done most research.
