ABOUT US
The Laboratory of Psychology and Technology (LABPSITEC), of Universitat Jaume I of Castellón, is a research group that since 1994 has been an international reference in the research and development of ICTs in the field of Clinical and Health Psychology.
We have a set of Virtual Reality applications that have demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of phobias (e.g. acrophobia, spider phobia, cockroach phobia, fear of public speaking, claustrophobia, flying phobia), panic disorder with and without agoraphobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, pathological grief, body image problems in eating disorders, chronic pain, etc.
We have also developed a platform for the creation and administration of online psychological assessment and treatment protocols for emotional disorders, specific phobias, adaptive disorders, pathological grief, pathological gambling and chronic pain. This line has advanced to the development of APPs for momentary ecological assessment and intervention (EMA and EMI), with the possibility of continuously monitoring the patient and intervening when needed.
Our field of action also covers the participation in the development process of ICT-based applications providing our expertise in the field of Human-Computer Interaction and UX (User Experience), specifically: Usability, HCI, system acceptability, emotional design, user-centered design.
Areas related to our work: Mixed Realities, Telepsychology, APPs, Ecological Momentary Assessment, Ecological Momentary Intervention, Psychological Treatments, Experimental Psychopathology, Psychological Assessment, Cognitive Ergonomics, etc. Labpsitec has a group of professionals with extensive clinical and research experience, led by Dr. Azucena García Palacios, Full Professor of Psychopathology and Clinical Psychologist.
LABPSITEC is composed of professionals with extensive clinical and research experience, led by Dr. Azucena García Palacios, Professor of Psychopathology and Clinical Psychologist. Dr. García Palacios also directs the Psychological Assistance Service (SAP) of Universitat Jaume I of Castellón, a service where our patients can benefit from the latest advances in evidence-based psychological treatments.
